Nato in Russia, Boris Garlitsky ha ricevuto le sue prime lezioni di musica da suo padre, l’autore del metodo di studi per giovani violinisti “Step by Step”. Garlitsky ha studiato con il professor Yankelevich al Conservatorio di Mosca. In seguito ha lavorato come primo violino per i Virtuosi di Mosca, la London Symphony Orchestra, il Covent Garden Opera, l’ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, la Filarmonica di Amburgo e molte altre orchestre di prestigio.

Nel 1982, Boris Garlitsky ha vinto il Concorso Paganini e ha iniziato la sua carriera come solista. Da allora, ha suonato, tra gli altri, con la London Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Radio Orchestra, l’Orchestra da Camera di Filadelfia, così come l’Orchestra Verdi e l’Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

Musicista famoso anche per la musica da camera, Garlitsky partecipa regolarmente a festival quali il Pablo Casals Festival in Francia, il Mostly Mozart di New York, i Proms di Londra, lo Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival e il Chamber Music Festival di Gidon Kremer in Austria.

Si esibisce anche per la BBC, Radio France, così come in numerose altre emittenti radio.

Ha registrato per RCA, Naxos, Chandos, e Polymnie.

Garlitsky è devoto alla formazione dei giovani talenti, annualmente partecipa come docente a numerosi corsi di perfezionamento in rinomate istituzioni musicali. Attualmente detiene la cattedra di violino presso due istituzioni musicali rinomate: il Conservatorio Nazionale Superiore di Musica di Parigi e il Folkwang Universität der Künste di Essen.

Garlitsky ha partecipato in numerose giurie tra le quali il Concorso internazionale per violino  “Michael Hill” in Nuova Zelanda e il Concorso Musicale Internazionale di Seoul.

Born in Russia, Boris Garlitsky received his first music lessons from his father, the author of the standard textbook for young violinists Step by Step. In 1982, Boris Garlitsky won the Italian Paganini Competition and began his career as a soloist. Since then, he has played, among others, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Radio Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, as well as the Giuseppe Verdi Orchestra and the British Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.

A noted chamber musician, Mr. Garlitsky regularly takes part in festivals namely the Pablo Casals Festival in France, Mostly Mozart in New York, the London Proms, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and Gidon Kremer’s Chamber Music Festival in Austria. He also performs for the BBC, Radio France, as well as a number of radio stations. He has recorded for RCA, Naxos, Chandos, and Polymnie.

Mr. Garlitsky also devotes his time to education. He offers master classes on a yearly basis in renowned musical institutions, while holding a chair at two outstanding music institutions: the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris and the Folkwang Universität der Künste Essen. Mr. Garlitsky has sat on numerous juries including the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in New Zealand and the Seoul International Musical Competition.
