Jérôme Guichard è nato a Nancy, dove ha iniziato a studiare oboe prima di entrare al “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris”, prima con Pierre Pierlot e poi con Maurice Bourgue.

Nel 1988 e nel 1989, Jérôme viene premiato all’unanimità ottenendo il primo premio in Musica da Camera e in Oboe. Si è distinto nel concorso internazionale di Ginevra e Trieste (metà finale nel 1988), Manchester nel 1989 (secondo premio ex aequo) e Praga nel 1991 (finalista, premio speciale).

Laureato nella fondazione Yamaha nel 1991, ha vinto il primo premio dell’International Concourse of Tokyo nello stesso anno, premio che non è mai stato assegnato durante le precedenti edizioni di questo concorso.

Jérôme Guichard ha suonato con Jean-Pierre Rampal e Pierre Pierlot (Champs-Elysees Theatre nel 1992), con l’Orchestra Filarmonica di Radio France (SAlle Gaveau nel 1993), con l’Orchestra Sinfonica Simon Bolivar (1994, ciclo della fondazione Beracasa in Venezuela ), con l’Orchestra Sinfonica di Minsk nel 1993, 1995 e 1997 e con l’Orchestra del Quebec nel 1997.

È regolarmente invitato dall’Orchestra di Lione, dall’Orchestra dell’Opera Bastille di Parigi, dall’Orchestra Nazionale di Francia, dalla WDR di Colonia. È stato diretto da Lorin Maazel, Pierre Boulez, Jeffrey Tate, Semyon Bychkof, Kent Nagano, Kurt Masur e Emmanuel Krivine che lo ha nominato primo solista oboe dell’Orchestra Nazionale di Lione nel 1997.

Il suo impegno nella musica contemporanea lo porta a lavorare con compositori come Lutoslawski (1993), Mefano (1990 e 1993), Ligeti (2000) e Berio (2001), nonché con l’Ensemble 2E2M e TM +.

Si esibisce in vari festival, come il Festival di Montpellier Radio France, il settembre di l’Orne, l’Orlando Festival (Paesi Bassi) e la Stagione del Castello di Neubourg (Germania).

Ha preso parte a diverse accademie internazionali e ha tenuto delle master class a Tokyo, Minsk, Barcellona e in molte città della Francia (Angers, Marsiglia).

È anche tutor per l’Orchestra giovanile nazionale della Catalogna e l’Orchestra giovanile nazionale di Spagna (JOSE).

Insegna all’Ecole Normale de Musique di Parigi dal 1989 al 1994, tiene la classe di oboe al Conservatoire National de Region di Nancy dal 1988 al 1998.

Jérôme è attualmente professore al Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique di Lione ed è stato invitato dalla London Symphony Orchestra durante la stagione 2010/2011 (con Antonio Pappano, Sir Colin Davis, Valery Gergiev).

È stato anche ospite in diverse istituzioni europee come la Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, la Royal Academy of London, a Glasgow (2011/2012), Tokyo e il Beijing Oboe Festival (2014).

In 1988 and 1989, Jérôme is awarded unanimously by the first prizes in Chamber Music and Oboe. He distinguished himself in the international contest of Geneva and Triest(half final in 1988), Manchester in 1989 (second prize ex aequo) and Prague in 1991 (finalist, special prize).

Laureate of the Yamaha foundation in 1991, he won the first prize of the International Concourse of Tokyo in the same year, prize which has never been awarded during the previous edition of this contest.

He is regularly invited by the Orchestra of Lyon, the Orchestra of the Opera Bastille of Paris, the National Orchestra of France, the WDR of Cologne. He was directed by Lorin Maazel, Pierre Boulez, Jeffrey Tate, Semyon Bychkof, Kent Nagano, Kurt Masur and Emmanuel Krivine who nominates him first oboe soloist of the National Orchestra of Lyon in 1997.

His commitment in the contemporary music leads him to work with composers such as Lutoslawski (1993), Mefano (1990 and 1993), Ligeti (2000) and Berio (2001)as well as with 2E2M and TM+.

He performs in various festivals, as the Montpellier Radio France Festival, the September of l’Orne, the Orlando Festival (Netherlands) and the Neubourg Castle Season (Germany).

He took part in several international academies and teaches during master classes in Tokyo, Minsk, Barcelone and many cities in France (Angers, Marseille).

He is also tutor for the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia and the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JOSE).

He teaches at the Ecole Normale de Musique of Paris from 1989 to 1994, holds the oboe class at the Conservatoire National de Region of Nancy from 1988 to 1998.

Jérôme is actually professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of Lyon and has been invited in London Symphony Orchestra during 2010 / 2011  season (with Antonio PAPPANO, Colin DAVIS, Valery GERGIEV).

He was also a guest in different European institutions as the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, the Royal Academy of London and Glasgow (2011/2012), Tokyo and the Beijing Oboe Festival (2014).
